NBA Betting – Celtics, Spurs clash in battle of streaking teams

Ray Allen was on fire, scoring 27 points on 6-of-9 shooting (including 5-of-6 from three-point range), and Kendrick Perkins even threw in a double-double with 21 points and 12 boards. The Celtics are now 8-2 when they score 100 points or more, and even though their NBA betting odds depend on their defense, Boston is showing that they can fill the basket as well.
The Spurs (9-6) are coming on, as a 97-89 win over Philadelphia at home was their fifth in a row. San Antonio hit 10 of their 18 three-point attempts, and they held the 76ers to 39.3% from the field. The Spurs seem to be healthy again, although they’re bringing Manu Ginobili slowly back into the frame. Health, it seems, is the only thing holding the Spurs back from rising up the NBA betting ranks.
NBA betting odds in your online sportsbook should favor the Spurs in this showdown, but the Celtics have won three in a row in San Antonio. The Celtics are also 7-1 away from home, and they’re second in the league in points allowed. The Spurs’ defense is getting better as everyone gets healthy again, but offense may be the key to this game as they’re 6-0 when they score 100 points or more. However, the odds that they won’t reach that mark are very good against a stout Boston team that looks like they’re on a mission after Kevin Garnett’s injury basically cost them any shot at the NBA title last year. I’m willing to take Garnett and company over Tim Duncan and his wonky knees, as well as the rest of the banged-up Spurs.
