This past week in the WWE, we saw Don Johnson be in the corner of DX and Hornswoggle when they faced the Miz-Show (the Miz and the Big Show), and Napoleon Dynamite, er, I mean Jon Heder.
To be dead honest with you guys, I am starting to get tired of seeing DX in the main event of Raw every week. The reason why I am is because they keep getting victories after victories that I feel that they don’t need. They are already over. They are the unified tag team champions. I guess this week they needed something to do when Jericho is finally off of Raw and they cannot make him look like a fool any longer. Thank you WWE Creative. As a huge Jericho fan, I’m tired of seeing Jericho lose every week to DX in a “if Jericho looses again this week, he’s off Raw for good” for the who-knows-the-number-of-times-they-did-that-crap!
Anyways, at the end, we saw Big Show squashing Napoleon and Hornswoggle doing the Tadpole Splash onto the Big Show, then the Big Show “rolled” off of Napoleon and then Hornswoggle picking up the victory.
At the end of Raw, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, John Cena, and the Big Show all stated that they are entering into the Rumble match itself. This year, I hope Triple H and John Cena get entered into the Rumble early on and get eliminated early on as well. After each passing week, my hatred towards both men strengthen, for Triple H has a lot of political power for being the bosses son-in-law and Cena is the company’s boy, they will never put him down. I find that to be a lot of totally bull crap.
And over on SmackDown, Rey Mysterio and the Undertaker had a face-to-face meeting. It ended with Batista attacking Mysterio. Big deal.
Nothing special with ECW other than Santino was the special guest host of the “Abraham Washington Show” and ECW Champion Christian defeated William Regal by disqualification. That pisses me off as well, why hasn’t WWE Creative put the stupid ECW Championship on William Regal yet? I bet ECW would get more ratings with Regal as Champ. Regal as Champ would help bring in people to watch it because Regal can pull off one of those champs that people pay to see his opponent put him to the limit and try to take the title off of him. They should do that! People may want to watch ECW. I may stop going to volleyball every Tuesday night to watch so if Regal gets the strap!
I don’t know, I really feel like nothing to special news wise came from the WWE this week, which is unusual, especially with the Royal Rumble is just around the corner in six days. But we’ll see, I guess. But for now, this is Eric Darsie from Minnesota, taking a break from doing the homework, goodbye!
This past week was the week before WWE’s newest different pay-per-view, WWE TL C. But for me, besides the pay-per-view last night, I feel like the biggest thing that the WWE faced was: D-Generation X took on Chris Jericho in a handicap match on Raw Monday Night, on the 6th.
Why do I feel like this is the biggest thing for the week this past week for the WWE? Because this whole pay-per-view is resting on the shoulders of the TLC match for the Undisputed World Tag Team Championship where the Jeri-Show defends the titles against D-Generation X.
I am sure that most everyone would agree that the build-up for the pay-per-view was built around the TLC match for the tag titles, because for that match, we have four solid main-eventers fighting, trying to make the tag straps better than what they are.
The other two matches, the WWE title match and the World title match, WWE has either thrown in a new competitor seeing how he holds up to being in the main event at a pay-per-view and the World champ is still hurt and his career is wrapping up because his body is pretty beaten up.
But why was a simple handicap match that ended in a no contest something big for the week? To be honest, it’s nothing too special other than it could have been very well Chris Jericho’s last time on Raw. Let me consider why this would be a bad thing. I highly doubt that DX will show up on Smackdown every week if they win the tag titles last night. And with Shawn Michaels leading a bible study back at home on Wednesdays, it would be harder for him to make it to the Smackdown tapings on Tuesday nights, how he would be considered a Smackdown superstar if he would win the tag straps with Triple H.
How would it be a good thing that Jericho is off of Raw? I guess it would be a good thing if a heel is off the show, but isn’t it the heels job to get under everyone’s skin to pay money to see him lose? I feel like Jericho and the Big Show have been doing a great job on being tag champs, which fans want to see DX defeat them and get the straps off of them.
Yeah, Triple H gets what Triple H wants, and DX never won the tag straps before, so DX is expected to win the titles, but if WWE is smart, they would keep the titles on Jeri-Show. I guess once this article is up, we would already know. But this is Eric Darsie from Minnesota, having some honka, honka, honky love, he’s the one I’ve been dreaming of, and happy birthday B-Chef, goodbye!
This past week there were a couple of matches that I would like to discuss for this week’s WWE week-in-review. The two matches are from ECW and Smackdown. The ECW match was the ECW Championship match with Christian defending his title against William Regal and on Smackdown it was the World Heavyweight Champion the Undertaker taking on Chris Jericho.
First, let’s discuss the ECW title match from last week’s Tuesday. To be dead honest, I only saw the end of the match coming off the last commercial break, and it totally pissed me off that Regal didn’t win the championship. Why it pisses me off is Regal deserves the title. Regal could better the ECW championship and as ECW Champion he could better the ECW brand. And with that, that title match was Regal’s last shot for the ECW championship. And for everyone’s last title shot, they normally win the title during their last shot, even in their hometown, like ECW was in this past week (along with the whole WWE roster), being in England.
And like said, I can see William Regal as ECW Champion is a good thing for the brand. Why, and how? Regal’s facial expressions are great, and Regal can wrestle. Regal’s in-ring style would be best for the brand as champion. But before I go more with why I think Regal should be ECW Champion and get angry about it, I’ll go to the next match I want to discuss.
On Friday Night Smackdown, we saw one-half of the Undisputed Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho take on the World Heavyweight Champion the Undertaker in their first ever one-on-one battle. Similar to the Regal/Christian match, this match made me upset because they should have done their first one-on-one encounter to be on a pay-per-view. Heck, I’ve heard rumors that Jericho will be facing Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVI. So giving away the match for free is totally stupid!
But if anyone can make a great match with Jericho is the Undertaker, and vice versa, if anyone can make a great match with the Undertaker is Jericho. I could have watched this match when it was aired on Friday night, but chose not to because I think it is stupid that they gave this match away for free. But talking to one of my buddies is who huge into the business said the match was great. And I can believe that. And the Undertaker won with Hell’s Gate on Jericho.
And the thing that shocked me the most when Big Show joined Jericho on the post-match beat down on the Undertaker, Kane came out and made the save. Why this shocked me the most is, this is a tag match that I would absolutely love to see, and we can see it this coming Friday night on Smackdown! So watch it while it’s being aired if you can, if not, T-Vo it, tape it on VCR, or whatever, you should watch it!
But to wrap it up, this was a decent week for main events this past week. But anyways, this is Eric Darsie from Minnesota, thinking of when he would hang out again with B-Chef, goodbye!

This past Sunday at the Night of Champions pay-per-view, Chris Jericho revealed the guy to replace Edge as the other half of the Unified Tag Team Championship would be the largest athlete in the World Wrestling Entertainment, the Big Show. For me at least, I was surprised to find out that it’s the Big Show to be Jericho’s tag partner.
Why the Big Show? I would turn around and ask another question. Why not the Big Show? He’s stands seven feet tall. He’s pushing five hundred pounds. He has the Knock-Out Punch, the Camel Clutch (not CamelClutchBlog.com, darn), the Choke Slam. He’s the only man to hold the World Championship Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship, the Extreme Championship Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship, and the World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment World Heavyweight Championship. He held the Tag titles before with Kane and the Undertaker. Also a former Hardcore Champion (as is Chris Jericho).
But I did think about the initial question: Why the Big Show? He’s no Edge, which are a positive and a negative in the both sense of the word. But then I thought more, if done right, this could be a great addition for Jericho on holding the titles. Big Show has the power and the strength, Jericho has the speed, technical skill, together, with their in-ring experience, who could stop these men? I don’t think anyone could, to be honest.
I do hope that the WWE keeps the titles on these guys to the Rumble. Why the Rumble? For Show/Jericho team could help build up the tag team division. Maybe have them lose the titles around the Rumble, or even at the Rumble and have them compete in the Rumble match, and have them eliminate each other. Then enter Edge into the equation to feud with Jericho for their match at WrestleMania XXVI (which would be a show-stealing match, think about it!).
WWE should try to build new tag teams when they have two of the most experienced wrestlers holding their tag team titles. Big Show and Chris Jericho could help the younger talent with being tag champs by help them build matches that get people excited and help them with their in-experience that doesn’t add up to those two men.
But after reading a story yesterday about how Vince McMahon “freaked-out” after the tag title match, how that match didn’t get the fans excited for the rest of the pay-per-view, I can see the plug being pulled fast for the Big Show-Chris Jericho team. I hope McMahon doesn’t do that. That was the first time these two men teamed up. McMahon should keep the titles on them through another two pay-per-views, and nothing changes, and then end it. That’s at least from a fan’s perspective. We know how McMahon “knows what the fans want.” If so, he would know why I haven’t been watching his programming for the past couple of weeks. But to conclude, this is Eric Darsie from Minnesota, jamming out to Finger Eleven at work, goodbye!
NBA All-Star Shaquille O’Neal was last night’s WWE RAW Guest Host. Shaq ran the entire show last night and was a WWE natural from the second he entered the ring. There is no doubt by the end of the show that Vince McMahon is already negotiating Shaq’s first official WWE match.
WWE began the gimmick of special Guest Host several weeks back. The Guest Host is in charge of the show in a commissioner role. So far all of the celebrity/non-wrestler Guest Hosts have been duds. Shaq was a huge hit with the fans in D.C. As RAW went on the air, you could sense a big buzz in the air about the night’s Guest Host, Shaquille O’Neal.
Shaq opened up the show by ordering a Beat the Clock Challenge Match to determine Randy Orton’s WWE SummerSlam opponent. Shaq was subsequently confronted by Chris Jericho in a tremendous face to face. Jericho’s partner Big Show joined the party. This is where the fun began.
The fun continued at the end of the night for Shaq Daddy. As Big Show was about to choke slam Cryme Tyme, he dropped them, and called Shaq to the ring. Shaq and Show got physical both going for choke slams. The fans went absolutely nuts as the two had fantastic charisma in the ring together. Neither man took the slam as Cryme Tyme came back in the ring to break up the altercation.
There is no doubt that Vince McMahon saw dollar signs at this moment. Show and Shaq went nose to nose and the fans went nuts. Shaq challenged Show to a match. Show turned down the challenge. The two make for a natural match. Considering that WrestleMania takes place during the NBA season, I would expect the match following Shaq’s retirement.
I found the segment comical for another reason. For years, the WWE has promoted Big Show as the largest athlete in the world. In the ring it was obvious that Shaq had a few inches on Show. I am shocked that they didn’t at least put Show in some lifts. I don’t know if this was done purposely, but if not the myth about Big Show is over.
The big WWE news of the night is that John Cena will be challenging Randy Orton for the WWE championship at SummerSlam. This will be their first singles main-event since WWE No Way Out 2008. The two have fought a lot in Triple Threat and multi-opponent challenges. However, the match will finally give fans a break from the Randy Orton – Triple H feud.
The “Masterpiece” Chris Masters finally made his long awaited return on WWE RAW. Masters returned to wrestle MVP. I thought this was a blown opportunity. Masters hasn’t appeared on WWE television since October 2007. Masters teased his Full Nelson throughout the match to no reaction. To me, that says the crowd had no idea who he was. In my opinion, Masters definitely needed some kind of buildup or video before appearing in such a high profile match.
In other news on the show, it was announced that Jeff Hardy would defend the WWE world title against John Morrison on WWE SmackDown this Friday. WWE also announced that Jeremy Piven will be next week’s Guest Host. Depending upon the audience, Piven may be surprisingly over. Triple H will also wrestle Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes in a Handicapped Match next week.
